Mogadishu, SONNA – Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, officially received UK Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, during a formal meeting in Mogadishu. Ambassador Nithavrianakis introduced Ms. Alison Blackburn, the newly appointed UK Special Envoy for the Red Sea and Horn of Africa.
The discussions centered around strengthening bilateral cooperation between Somalia and the United Kingdom, as well as addressing key regional issues. Both sides emphasized the importance of collaboration in promoting stability and development across the Horn of Africa region.
Ms. Blackburn’s appointment as Special Envoy highlights the UK’s continued focus on the Red Sea and Horn of Africa, with Somalia playing a pivotal role in the region’s security and economic landscape.
