Somali National Security and Intelligence Service (NISA) announced on Thursday that it had conducted a successful operation against Al-Shabaab terrorists in Galhareeri district of Galgaduud region in central Somalia, killing more than 20 militants and destroying their equipment.
According to a statement released by NISA, the operation was carried out with the help of international partners, who provided air support and intelligence. The statement said that the operation targeted a radio station used by Al-Shabaab to spread propaganda and a facility where they were making explosives and planning attacks.
The statement added that the operation was part of the ongoing efforts to eliminate Al-Shabaab from the country and restore peace and stability. NISA vowed to continue the fight against the terrorist group until they are completely eradicated.
