MOGADISHU – In a major blow to the Khawaarij extremist group, security forces in Somalia’s Hiiraan region have successfully conducted an operation that resulted in the death of a senior leader. The operation, which took place in the Mabaah area, targeted and eliminated Ali Ahmed Guure, also known as Ali Qoyane.
According to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the slain leader was a key figure responsible for the group’s intelligence operations in the city of Beledweyne. The mission was carried out by the local forces, who received direct support from the Federal Government of Somalia.
The successful operation shows the government’s commitment to rooting out terrorism and supporting local defense initiatives. It represents a significant victory in the ongoing fight to stabilize the region and protect communities from extremist threats.
