Islamabad, (SONNA) – A high-level delegation from Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, led by Director General Yusuf Hassan Isaak (Wadani) are on a 5-day study visit to Pakistan.
Warmly received by the Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid and Dr. Tahir Noor, the visit, supported by World Bank, focuses on social protection learning.
The delegation explored the BISP journey over 16 years, including its Unified Social Registry (USR), digital transformation, and new initiatives like the Benazir Hunarmand Programme aimed at empowering vulnerable families through skills development.
Director Yusuf Wadani thanked BISP for the generous hospitality and highlighted Somalia’s eagerness to adapt successful models like BISP to enhance inclusive, tech-driven social protection systems.
