Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army’s Commandos (Danab) on Monday killed two senior al-Shabab militants in operation in lower Shabelle region southern Somalia, officials said.
Ismail Abdimalik Malin, the Commander of the force told Radio Mogadishu’s SNA Radio that the special forces conducted successful operation in two areas, Gendershe and Jilib Marka along the coast in the region.
“Our forces killed two senior al-Shabab militants after conducted well planned operation in Genderahe and Jilib Marka locations in lower Shabelle region”, Mr. Malin said.
He added that these areas are now in control of the special forces whose aim is to eliminate the group and end militants presence in the region.
