Janaale, (SONNA) — The 14th October Battalion of the Somali National Army successfully intercepted a landmine planted by militants intended to target residents of Janaale.
Brigadier General Cabdiraxiin Maxamed Munye, commander of the battalion, confirmed that intelligence on the device enabled forces to locate and neutralize the threat. The location targeted by the militants is one of the areas frequently visited by the local community.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Somali security forces to prevent attacks on civilians and maintain stability in Lower Shabelle.
