The National Disaster Management Authority (SoDMA) has loaded two boats with humanitarian aid to help the people of Puntland and Jubbaland, who are suffering from severe flooding due to the El Niño phenomenon.
The boats, carrying food, and other emergency humanitarian relief, were seen off by the SoDMA chairman, Mr. Mohamud Macallin Abdulle, in the port of Mogadishu this afternoon. They are expected to reach their destinations in the next few days.
Both Puntland and Jubbaland are in dire need of assistance as they have been hit hard by the floods that have destroyed homes, roads, bridges, and crops.
