Mogadishu, (SONNA) – A high-level delegation comprising the Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed A. Adan, distinguished delegates from UNOCHA and FAO hailing from New York and Rome, and the esteemed George Conway, the UN DSRSG, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator to Somalia paid a visit to Dolow district in Gedo Region earlier today.
The objective of this expedition is to assess the humanitarian situations in the district and its surrounding areas, with the aim of highlighting the aftermaths of the recent droughts and floods, as well as the current situation, to the global community.
The purpose of the visit is to increase efforts in implementing projects for disaster recovery and resilience, in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season, which poses a potential risk of floods.
