Belet-Hawo, (SONNA) – A high-level delegation from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), led by Director General Abdirashid Mahmoud Hassan, arrived today in Belet Hawo district, Gedo region.
The delegation was received at the Somali National Army base known locally as the “UK base,” on the outskirts of the town, by the District Commissioner, senior army officers, and other local officials.
The mission aims to assess the humanitarian conditions in the district, distribute emergency relief to families displaced by recent clashes, and convene a special meeting on addressing urgent humanitarian needs resulting from the conflict in Belet-Hawo. The meeting, chaired by SoDMA, will focus on coordinating response efforts and ensuring timely assistance reaches those most affected.
