Awdheegle, (SONNA) – The Commander of the Somali National Army’s 14th October Battalion, Lt. Col. Abdirahim Mohamed Munye, today visited the frontlines in Awdheegle district, where the ongoing “Silent Storm” operation is progressing with strong momentum, jointly conducted by Somali forces and international partners.
During the visit, the commander received a detailed briefing from officers of the 143rd Unit of the 14th October Battalion and partners from AUSSOM on efforts to eliminate Al-Shabaab militants hiding inside Awdheegle.
Lt. Col. Munye praised the commitment of the troops and urged them to press on until Al-Shabaab remnants in and around Awdheegle, Lower Shabelle region, are completely defeated in the shortest possible time.
