Beijing, (SONNA) – The Director of the Asia and Australia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Said Jama Mire, met in Beijing with H.E. Ambassador Xue Bing, China’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa. The two officials discussed ways to deepen cooperation and enhance bilateral relations.
Ambassador Xue Bing expressed appreciation for Somalia’s steadfast support for the One China Principle, emphasizing its significance in the diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Mr. Mire commended China’s commitment to Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, underscoring that this principle remains fundamental to the country’s foreign policy. He highlighted that as Somalia and China approach the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations on December 14, 2025, their enduring partnership continues to serve as a pillar of mutual respect and cooperation.
