Carta, (SONNA) – The Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, who is currently on an official visit to Djibouti, today visited the city of Carta — the birthplace of Somalia’s Transitional National Government established in the year 2000.
Upon arrival in Carta, Speaker Abdi Hashi and his delegation were warmly received by the First Deputy Speaker of the Djiboutian Parliament, members of the Djiboutian legislature, city officials, community elders, and other distinguished guests.
In his remarks, Speaker Hashi expressed deep gratitude to the people of Carta for hosting the Somali reconciliation conference that laid the foundation for Somalia’s post-conflict governance. He emphasized that the Somali people hold profound appreciation for the solidarity and unwavering support extended by the people and President of Djibouti during one of Somalia’s most critical moments.
