Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and Somali National Army (SNA) carried out a coordinated airstrike operation against the Al-Shabaab terrorists in Geelgub area of the Middle Shabelle region killing 21 militants including senior commanders.

According to security officials, the operation was executed as planned, successfully neutralizing all targeted insurgents in a single strike.

NISA has once again urged civilians to avoid areas where al-Shabaab militants are hiding, as security forces intensify their operations to eliminate the remaining elements of the extremist group.
