Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, on Monday chaired the second day of the National Dialogue Conference in Mogadishu, where he outlined the government’s key priorities under the “DanQaran” agenda. His address focused on advancing national unity, strengthening security, preparing for elections, completing the Provisional Constitution, accelerating state-building, stimulating economic development, and implementing the National Transformation Plan (NTP).

Prime Minister Barre highlighted that Somalia is undergoing a pivotal moment that requires reinforcing national solidarity to overcome current challenges and reach lasting, inclusive solutions to political disputes.

“Somalia is at a stage where it must shift toward a politics grounded in principles—where Somali citizens have the right to elect and be elected,” he said. “This conference is inclusive and leaves no one behind. Every segment of society is represented, including those seeking leadership roles.”

He urged the Somali people to stand united in defeating Al-Shabaab (Khawarij), ensuring credible elections, and advancing the country’s broader state-building agenda.

“The obstacles before us are significant, and the responsibilities we shoulder are immense,” the Prime Minister stated. “We face enemies who threaten our faith, culture, statehood, and national identity.”

“At the same time,” he continued, “we are building a democratic state with a completed constitution, while upholding Somalia’s unity and sovereignty. With one hand, we are fighting our enemies; with the other, we are building the nation.”
