Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre held a farewell meeting at his office with the outgoing Ambassador of Sweden to Somalia, Mr. Joachim Waern, marking the end of his diplomatic tenure in the country.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barre commended Ambassador Waern for his significant contributions to strengthening the bilateral relations between Somalia and Sweden. He particularly acknowledged Sweden’s role in supporting Somalia’s economic development, humanitarian efforts, healthcare, education, and the fight against poverty.
Ambassador Waern expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and conveyed appreciation for the cooperation and solidarity shown by the Somali government and people throughout his mission.
Prime Minister Barre reiterated Somalia’s commitment to enhancing diplomatic ties and meaningful cooperation with Sweden, aimed at advancing the shared interests of both nations and improving the lives of the Somali people.
