MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, received a delegation from the Government of Iraq at his office in Mogadishu today.
The delegation’s visit to Somalia is aimed at strengthening the cooperation and bilateral relations between the two fraternal nations.
The meeting focused on reinforcing cooperation in critical areas, particularly security and the joint fight against terrorism. Discussions also covered the development of investment opportunities, with a special emphasis on key sectors such as fisheries, energy, agriculture, and livestock.
Prime Minister Barre and the Iraqi delegation reached an agreement for their respective governments to bolster their collaboration. The goal is to identify and pursue further trade and development opportunities, thereby expanding the historic relationship that exists between Somalia and Iraq.
