Mogadishu, (SONNA) March 20, 2023 – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, signed eight laws approved by the two Houses of Parliament at an event held at the National Presidency.
The laws include the Anti-Terrorism Act, Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency Establishment Law, Immigration Law, Public Data Protection Act, Law on the Management of Underground Resources, Investment and Investor Protection Law, Law on Identification and Public Registration, and Somali Fisheries Development and Management Law.
The President praised the Leaders and members of the two chambers of the Federal Parliament of Somalia for speeding up the approval of these laws which are the foundation of the Somali government and the implementation of a system based on law and modern governance.
He also praised the Cabinet and Somali experts for preparing these laws, and pointed out that it is a new history for the Somali government, as they are the most laws that have been approved in a short period of time, which shows the importance of cooperation between government agencies.
