Baidoa, SONNA — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has received the Chairman of the District Administration and Mayor of Baidoa, Abdullahi Ali Watiin, for a high-level briefing on the city’s progress and challenges.
During the meeting, the President was presented with a comprehensive report outlining the overall situation in Baidoa, including ongoing efforts to strengthen security, advancements in social services, and key challenges requiring coordinated action between Federal and State institutions.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the work of the Baidoa district administration, emphasizing the need to reinforce cooperation among government agencies to ensure sustainable security, tangible development, and the delivery of quality public services.
He further directed relevant institutions to accelerate the implementation of development projects and relief programs aimed at strengthening community resilience and improving infrastructure across the city.
The meeting was attended by the Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur, the Interim Leader of South West State, Jibril Abdirashid Haji, and the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Ali.
The engagement reflects the Federal Government’s continued commitment to supporting regional administrations and advancing inclusive development across Somalia.
