Mogadishu (SONNA) – His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, today conducted an inspection of the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, an initiative that shows his ongoing commitment to monitoring the overall status of government institutions, particularly those vital to the nation’s security and defense.
During his visit, President Mohamud convened a significant meeting with key defense officials. Attendees included the Minister of Defense, senior leadership of the National Army, the National Security Advisor, and other high-ranking personnel from the Ministry.
The President received a comprehensive report from the ministry’s leadership detailing the current security situation and outlining strategic plans for the development and enhancement of the armed forces. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud emphasized the critical importance of reforming and improving the capabilities of the National Army.
