Mogadishu, SONNA — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, alongside the Prime Minister and other federal leaders, attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Northeastern State of Somalia, H.E. Abdulqadir Ahmed Aw Ali (Firdhiye), in Las Anod, Sool region.
The ceremony, held in the heart of Las Anod, marks a key milestone in the political and constitutional development of the Northeastern State of Somalia.

In addition to Somalia’s federal leadership, the event is attended by ambassadors and representatives from several countries and regional entities, including the governments of Djibouti, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Kenya, as well as officials from the Somali Regional Government and other distinguished dignitaries.
The presence of national and international officials highlights the broad support for Somalia’s federal system, democratic processes, and continued efforts to strengthen governance, unity, and stability across the country.
The inauguration serves as a significant moment in reinforcing collaboration between the Federal Government and regional administrations, while promoting dialogue and partnership for development in the Sool region and beyond.
