DOHA (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Doha on Saturday, leading a high-level delegation on an official working visit to the State of Qatar. Upon arrival, the President and his team were accorded a warm diplomatic reception, signaling the strength of the bilateral relations between the two nations.

During his stay in the Qatari capital, President Mohamud is scheduled to hold a series of critical meetings with senior leadership and state officials. The agenda for these discussions will center on strengthening the strategic partnership between Mogadishu and Doha, with a specific focus on enhancing cooperation in the security, economic, and political sectors. The talks aim to align the development goals of Somalia with the investment and diplomatic capabilities of Qatar to address shared challenges.

The President’s visit to Doha is a key component of a broader diplomatic tour intended to fortify Somalia’s international alliances. The administration is prioritizing engagements that directly support the preservation of the Federal Republic’s unity and territorial integrity. By securing economic and security commitments from key partners, the government seeks to advance its national interests and ensure the stability of the state in a complex regional environment.
