Mogadishu, SONNA – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today hosted a luncheon meeting with members of the Future Forum who responded to the invitation extended by the Government on 19 January 2026.
The luncheon forms part of preliminary engagements leading to the forthcoming National Consultation Conference convened by the Federal Government. The initiative aims to foster inclusive dialogue on key national priorities.
Discussions during the meeting centered on the overall situation in the country, including the electoral process, strengthening the unity and solidarity of the Somali people, addressing the ongoing drought conditions, and intensifying the fight against the Kharijites.
The President underscored the importance of broad-based consultation and collective responsibility in addressing the country’s political, security and humanitarian challenges.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamze Abdi Barre, cabinet members, and various representatives of the Future Forum.
The engagement reflects the Government’s continued commitment to dialogue, national cohesion, and coordinated efforts to advance stability and state-building.
