Algiers, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is on an official visit to Algeria, was warmly received today at the Al-Mouradia Presidential Palace by the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The welcoming ceremony featured the national anthems of both nations and a guard of honor presented by Algerian military units. The two Heads of State later held a private meeting, followed by extensive bilateral talks attended by senior officials from both sides.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Algeria in key areas including security, economy, education, health, culture, and diplomacy.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his gratitude to President Tebboune and the Algerian people for their warm hospitality, noting that the visit reflects the growing and historic ties between the two brotherly nations.
For his part, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune commended the Somali government for its ongoing efforts toward peace, stability, and reconstruction, reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to deepening its partnership and solidarity with Somalia.
