Cairo, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud accompanied by a high-level delegation arrived in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, for an official visit at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
The two leaders are set to discuss strengthening joint efforts in combating terrorism and accelerating cooperation on regional security and stability. Their talks aim to reinforce collaboration in addressing pressing security challenges across the region.
In addition, the discussions will focus on enhancing economic development, promoting trade, and fostering investment. Both nations are prioritizing initiatives to expand opportunities for trade exchange and investment between their countries, emphasizing the mutual benefits of economic partnership.
President Mohamud expressed gratitude to President el-Sisi for the warm invitation and Egypt’s consistent support for Somalia. He highlighted the enduring ties between the two nations, rooted in brotherhood, strategic cooperation, and shared interests for the well-being of their peoples.
