Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Organizing Committee for the National Independence Week held a ceremony this evening to recognize and honor individuals and institutions who played a significant role in the nationwide celebrations marking Somalia’s Independence Week.
Certificates of recognition were presented to National Media, independent media outlets, youth participants who engaged actively on social media, officers of the Somali National Armed Forces, and other contributors who supported and took part in the festivities held in Mogadishu.
Senior government officials in attendance—including the Minister of Interior, Minister of Defence, Deputy Minister of Information, and the State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister—extended their gratitude to the award recipients and the broader Somali public. They called on all citizens to continue fostering national unity, peace, and sovereignty, values at the heart of Somalia’s independence.
