Somalia’s National Identification and Registration Agency (NIRA) Director, Mr. Abdiweli Timamade, participated in the #ID4Africa2024 conference held this year in South Africa.
During a panel discussion on the Management of Modern (Digital) Identity Systems, Mr. Timamade shared Somalia’s progress in establishing a modern identification system. Conference leaders acknowledged Somalia’s significant advancements compared to other participating countries.
The NIRA Director elaborated on the stages of development for Somalia’s identification system and the agency’s efforts to implement it nationwide.
