JOWHAR, (SONNA) – The government of Hirshabelle State held an official ceremony this afternoon in Jowhar to inaugurate a new regional branch of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA).
The event was attended by the President of Hirshabelle State, H.E. Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Gudlawe), members of the regional Cabinet and Parliament, NIRA Director General Abdiweli Ali Abdulle (Tima-cadde), the Attorney General, the Mayor of Jowhar, and other dignitaries.
In his remarks, NIRA Director General Abdiweli Ali Abdulle stated that the new office will play a key role in delivering essential identification services to the people of Hirshabelle.
During the event, President Ali Gudlawe was officially issued with his national identification card, symbolizing the commencement of ID registration services in the state.
“Obtaining a national ID is the backbone of accessing all government services. I encourage all citizens to secure their IDs without delay,” said President Gudlawe.
He also urged NIRA staff in Hirshabelle to serve citizens efficiently and with integrity as they begin to apply for their national identification documents.
