MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Ministry of Communications and Technology and the Office of the Prime Minister have announced the launch of the country’s first-ever National Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Summit. Scheduled to convene in Mogadishu from February 14 to 15, this historic event represents a major coordinated push by the Federal Government to modernize the nation’s technological backbone and streamline public service delivery.

This high-level initiative is being organized in close collaboration with Somalia’s critical regulatory and financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Somalia (CBS), the National Communications Authority (NCA), the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), and the Data Protection Authority (DPA). The summit is designed to serve as a central platform for unifying the dialogue around technology, fostering system integration, and aligning the disparate efforts currently underway to develop the country’s digital infrastructure.

The primary objective of the gathering is to establish a cohesive national vision rooted in the interoperability of digital systems. By synchronizing the operations of these key government agencies, the administration aims to accelerate Somalia’s digital transformation. The strategic focus of the summit will be on establishing frameworks that ensure transparency and accountability while significantly improving the quality and accessibility of modern services available to Somali citizens.
