Mogadishu, Somalia – The Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Interior Security has issued a strong condemnation of the renewed conflict in the Gedo region, explicitly blaming “accused Ahmed Madoobe” for instigating the violence. The Ministry asserts that Madoobe directed his militias to attack Somali National Army (SNA) positions and civilian areas in Balad-Hawo on Friday, July 25, 2025.
According to the Ministry’s statement, these latest attacks have tragically resulted in the senseless loss of Somali lives. The Ministry views this as an attempt by the accused to expand his criminal activities and destabilize the region further.
