Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia delivered essential medical supplies to the Hirshabelle regional government as part of ongoing efforts to support areas affected by insurgent activities.
Today, Dr. Guled Abdijali, the Director General of the Ministry of Health and Social Care, handed over various medical supplies and emergency aid to Dr. Saad Mohamed Mahmoud, the Minister of Health for Hirshabelle.
These supplies are intended for healthcare facilities near regions where the national forces are actively pursuing Al-Shabaab militants. The goal is to ensure that medical assistance is readily available in case of injuries sustained by both national and local troops engaged in combat against terrorist groups.
Dr. Guled emphasized that the medical supplies, which include equipment for emergency surgeries, are part of a strategic plan to bolster healthcare in operational areas where national heroes and local communities are engaged in critical missions. Additionally, he mentioned that similar medical supplies will also be sent to the Puntland region, where efforts are underway to combat ISIS affiliates.
Minister Sadak Mohamed Mahmoud expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health for this vital support, assuring that the supplies would be promptly delivered to healthcare facilities in conflict zones.
This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment of the Somali government to enhance healthcare services in regions facing security challenges.
