Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. General Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), held a Ramadan iftar meeting in Mogadishu with the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Alper Aktaş, on March 15, 2025.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in security and strategic partnerships between Somalia and Turkey. Both officials discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in security, military training, and other vital areas.
Ambassador Aktaş emphasized Turkey’s commitment to supporting Somalia, assuring continued assistance to the Somali government and its people.
Minister Fartaag expressed gratitude for Turkey’s ongoing support to Somalia, highlighting the importance of further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
Accompanying the Minister was the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Security, Mr. Yusuf Ali.
