Mogadishu, SONNA – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali (Hosh), convened a special meeting with traditional and political leaders representing the clans recently involved in the conflict in Wanlaweyn district.
The discussions focused on assessing the situation in the affected areas, advancing ongoing reconciliation efforts, and identifying sustainable ways to resolve the root causes of the conflict. The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to fostering peace and stability through dialogue and cooperation.
Speaking at the forum, Minister Ali Hosh expressed deep regret over the losses caused by the clashes, emphasizing that both Islam and Somali culture uphold the sanctity of life and property. He urged all parties to strengthen the spirit of peace, brotherhood, and coexistence.
“The losses caused by this conflict are truly regrettable,” said Minister Ali Hosh. “Our faith and culture teach us the value of life and the importance of reconciliation. It is our collective duty to uphold peace and unity.”
The Minister concluded by calling on traditional elders and political leaders to take an active role in promoting dialogue, forgiveness, and reconciliation as the path to lasting peace in Wanlaweyn and across the country.
