Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Commander of the Somali National Army’s Ground Forces, Brigadier General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, warmly received Lieutenant General Sam Okiding, the Deputy Chief of Uganda’s Defence Forces, upon his official arrival at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation and coordination between Somalia and Uganda. General Okiding’s trip underscores Uganda’s continued support for Somalia’s security sector, particularly in joint operations aimed at eliminating terrorist groups and restoring peace and stability across the country.
Senior officials from the Somali National Army also participated in the welcoming ceremony, highlighting the importance of the robust military partnership between the two nations. Uganda remains a key ally in Somalia’s stabilization efforts, playing a significant role through its contributions to security operations and peacekeeping missions.
