Mogadishu(SONNA)-Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdi Hayir (Mareye) launched a new service that will enable Somali citizens to get information from all over the world. The new service entails a downloadable application that will allow the users to view Somali National Television, channel 1, SNTV1 and channel 2, SNTV2 live as they  broadcast. The users will also be able to follow radio Mogadishu programs using the same application.

“The Ministry of Information introduced social media platforms to reach young people who get their information and entertainment form such handles earlier”, He said.

The minister thanked everyone who contributed to the advancement of the national TV and Radio. He said this service achieves yet another milestone in the ministry’s bid to widen access to information.
As of last month the ministry recorded 3 million active subscribers following information on the ministry pages accounts.
Similarly the Ministry added a number of radio stations and others are in the final stages of being commissioned.

The Minister said every Somali national has the right to access information and his administration is going lengths to achieve that.
