Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Daud Aweis Jama received Ambassador of the African Union Representative in Somalia and Head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), Amb. Souef Mohamed El-Amine.
The two officials had an in-depth discussion about the significant advancements Somalia has made in various areas, including politics, security, and the fight against the Kharijites, specifically Al Shabab.
“We also reviewed the Somali Federal Government’s initiatives to assume control over areas currently being vacated by ATMIS troops,” says Minister Daud.
Minister Jama shared the government’s plans, including the implementation of universal suffrage (One Person, One Vote), and highlighted the successful endorsement of key laws by the Federal Parliament that aim to achieve this historic milestone in Somalia.
Ambassador Souef praised the progress Somalia has made in state-building and reaffirmed the African Union’s steadfast support for our nation’s development efforts.
