Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E Ahmed Mohamed Fiqi, welcomed the Director General of the Somali Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mohamed Abdulqadir, at his office. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ibrahim Guure Mohamed, Director of the Diaspora and Expatriate Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the Minister accepted an invitation from the Somali Norwegian Chamber of Commerce to attend the opening ceremony of the Somali Norwegian Business Summit. This landmark event is jointly organized by the Somali Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, the Diaspora and Expatriate Affairs Department of Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Fiqi commended the efforts of the Somali Norwegian Chamber of Commerce to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Somalia and Norway. He expressed optimism about the potential of the upcoming international Somali Diaspora Summit, scheduled to take place later this year in Oslo, Norway, as a platform for fostering collaboration and innovation among the Somali diaspora.
The meeting underscored Somalia’s commitment to deepening its economic and diplomatic partnerships with Norway and enhancing engagement with the Somali diaspora for mutual growth and development.
