Mogadishu(SONNA)-FM Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with State Minister Ali Omar, officially concluded the intensive training program for newly appointed ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps.
The program, which included the participation of 12 ambassadors and 21 diplomatic officers, culminated with the presentation of Protocol and Diplomatic Training Certificates to the graduates. The ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished senators and members of the Federal Parliament, underscoring the significance of the event.
In his address, Ambassador Fiqi commended the outstanding efforts of the Diplomatic Institute and Training Department in nurturing a new cadre of diplomatic leaders, emphasizing their pivotal role in advancing Somalia’s diplomatic engagement globally.
He expressed confidence that the newly trained ambassadors and officers would uphold the highest standards of professionalism and represent Somalia with distinction in the international arena. State Minister Ali Omar echoed these sentiments, lauding the participants for their unwavering commitment to the training program and their dedication to enhancing their diplomatic competencies.
Ambassador Abdulkadir Amin, Director of the Diplomatic Institute, highlighted the comprehensive nature of the training, which covered essential areas such as diplomacy, geopolitics, political theory, and its practical application in international relations. The program also included specialized modules on negotiation techniques and crisis management. Ambassador Amin emphasized that the knowledge and skills gained during the program would significantly enhance the participants’ effectiveness in their diplomatic roles.
