Mogadishu, (SONNA) — Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama, inaugurated a high-level summit today focused on the country’s humanitarian affairs.
Jama expressed his gratitude towards international organizations for their support to the Somali people and emphasized the urgent need to provide aid to recently liberated areas from extremist groups.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that there are still many people in need of assistance as their assets have been depleted by droughts and sanctions imposed by extremists.
Organized by the Somalia Disaster Management Agency (SODMA), the summit was attended by ministers of relief from regional state governments, representatives from the United Nations, donors, ambassadors, and officials from international organizations.
