Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, and the Chief of Defence Forces of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud, today visited several Somali National Army positions in Baidoa.
The visit forms part of ongoing inspections aimed at assessing the condition of the forces, accelerating security stabilisation efforts and operations to clear the country of terrorists, and strengthening the cohesion of the national armed forces.
The Minister and the CDF held a meeting with military officers in Baidoa and also addressed the troops directly, commending their bravery and sacrifice—particularly in the operations to reopen the strategic road linking the cities of Mogadishu and Baidoa, which is vital for civilian movement and national trade.
