Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, today received his counterpart from the Kingdom of Sweden, H.E. Pål Jonson, who is on an official visit to Somalia.
The meeting focused on strengthening the partnership between Somalia and Sweden, particularly in the areas of security cooperation, defence capacity building, and support for ongoing efforts to defeat terrorist groups.
Minister Fiqi thanked the Government of Sweden for its continued multifaceted support to Somalia, emphasising that the relationship between the two nations is founded on friendship, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to regional stability.
For his part, Minister Jonson commended the Federal Government of Somalia for its efforts to promote peace and for the progress achieved in the fight against terrorist groups, reaffirming his country’s commitment to further support Somalia’s security and defence development.
