Dhusamareb, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army’s Ground Forces, Major General Sahal Abdullahi Omar, conducted an official visit to the 21st Division Headquarters in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug State, as part of his ongoing field mission in the region.
General Sahal received a ceremonial guard of honor from units of the 21st Division upon arrival. He was warmly welcomed by the Division Commander, Colonel Mohamed Dhagaweyne, along with senior officers stationed at the base.
During the visit, General Sahal toured the division’s facilities, expressing appreciation to all those who contributed to the construction and operational readiness of the command center. He held detailed briefings with military leaders on the ongoing activities, operational readiness, and challenges on the ground.
In his closing remarks, the Ground Forces Commander praised the 21st Division for its recent battlefield successes, including reclaiming significant territory from the Khawarij insurgents. He commended the unit’s bravery and discipline in ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in central Somalia.
