Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, today met with a delegation led by Karin Johansson, Ambassador of the European Union in Somalia.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the areas of security and defence, including EU support for defence sector reform, training for the Somali Armed Forces, and the acceleration of stabilisation programmes in areas liberated from Al-Shabaab militants.
The Minister and the Ambassador also underscored the importance of continued international support for Somalia’s counter-terrorism efforts and the broader campaign to secure peace and stability across the country.
