Karela, (SONNA) – The Commercial and Industry Attaché at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in New Delhi, Mr. Abdirizak Saed Nuur, represented Somalia at the prestigious INDEX 2025 international exhibition and conference, held at the Adlux International Convention Centre in Angamaly, Kerala, India.
Organized by the National Industrial Development Coordination Committee (NIDCC) of India, the conference focused on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), aiming to boost economic growth among participating nations and foster investment opportunities in the industrial sector.
Somalia’s embassy in New Delhi was officially invited to participate and was granted a dedicated platform to showcase investment and trade opportunities in the country. Mr. Nuur delivered a keynote address and presentation highlighting Somalia’s untapped economic potential and the prospects for industrial development.
The event brought together high-level officials including India’s Minister of Food Processing Industries, Shri Chirag Paswan, as well as ambassadors, diplomats, and international business leaders from various countries.
Key sessions during the conference included discussions on investment in commerce, public-private partnerships, and innovative strategies to enhance economic integration and mutual business opportunities.
INDEX 2025 concluded on a successful note, establishing new partnerships and agreements that could pave the way for increased foreign investment in Somalia, particularly in MSMEs, infrastructure development, and emerging markets.
Somalia’s participation underscored its commitment to strengthening economic ties with India and other regional players. The embassy reiterated that Somalia is open for business and welcomes investors eager to contribute to the nation’s industrial and economic growth.
