Mogadishu, SONNA – The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), today received a delegation led by EU Operation Commander in Somalia, General Marco Manzone, at the Mogadishu Municipality Headquarters.
The meeting focused on EU-supported programs for the Banadir Regional Administration, particularly in the areas of security, reconstruction, and public services. Both sides agreed to enhance coordination between EU-funded projects and the region’s development priorities.
Governor Muungaab thanked the European Union for its continued support, emphasizing the importance of doubling efforts to advance key national programs, including the upcoming local council elections.
For his part, Gen. Marco Manzone commended the close cooperation between the EU mission and the Banadir Regional Administration, reaffirming the EU’s commitment to supporting security, reconstruction, and state-building efforts in the capital.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to strengthen partnership and accelerate joint development initiatives aimed at ensuring lasting peace and sustainable progress in Mogadishu.
