South West State Leader Inaugurates Country Humanitarian Forum in Baidoa

Baidoa, (SONNA) — The South West State Leader H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, today inaugurated the 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 (𝐂𝐇𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔) in 𝑩𝒂𝒊𝒅𝒐𝒂, bringing together international partners, UN agencies, NGOs, and civil society to discuss drought recovery and preparedness for 𝐄𝐥 𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.
Addressing the forum, the South West State Leader highlighted the severe humanitarian impact of droughts, floods, and other climate-related disasters, warning that El Niño 2026 could create new challenges, particularly in regions already facing acute humanitarian needs.
He underscored the importance of shifting from reactive responses to proactive disaster prevention and preparedness to better protect vulnerable communities.
