Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Khasim Mohamud, on Monday visited the National Theatre to assess ongoing preparations for the country’s upcoming Independence Week celebrations.

During the visit, the Minister reviewed rehearsals and cultural performances being conducted by the National Waabari Troupe, which is preparing a series of artistic presentations for the national commemorations.

The inspection focused on evaluating the readiness of patriotic songs and cultural performances planned for the Independence Week events, as artists and performers intensify preparations for the national celebrations.

Minister Abdifatah commended the efforts of singers, poets and technical staff involved in producing awareness and patriotic content, urging them to continue promoting Somali culture and preserving the memory of the long struggle that led to the country’s independence.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting cultural initiatives that strengthen national unity and celebrate Somalia’s history and identity.
