Somali Military Training Commander Visits Italy to Strengthen Cooperation

TURIN, Italy(SONNA)-The Commander of the Somali National Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier General Ahmed Isse Ahmed, led a delegation of officers on an official working visit to Italy to strengthen military training cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, Brig. Gen. Ahmed toured Italy’s Training and Doctrine Command headquarters in Turin, the Italian Special Forces School, and other military education and training institutions.

He also met with Italian counterparts to discuss expanding cooperation in military training, enhancing soldiers’ knowledge and professional skills, and strengthening Italy’s support for the Somali National Army.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen military ties between Somalia and Italy, improve the quality of military training, and enhance the operational capabilities of the Somali National Army.
