Army Chief : 150 Al-Shabaab militants killed in an on-going military operations

Mogadishu(SONNA)-150 Al-Shabaab militants were killed and others injured at an area about 30 killometers east of Aden Yabal district and Masjid Ali Gudud location in middle Shabelle region during a week long ongoing military operation, SONNA reported.

Army chief of the Somali National Army, Odowa Yusuf Rage said that Al-Shabaab militants suffered great loss during the operation, saying that terrorists assumed that they will escape through the forest in the region.

“We killed total of over 150 Al-Shabaab militants during the operation this week, we killed 50 terrorists 30 km east of Aden Yabal town and over 100 others near Masjid Ali Gudud in the same region, SNA forces with International partners entensity counter terrorism “, Rage said.

Somalia’s SNA forces together with local forces namely Ma’awisley forces liberated many areas under Al-Shabaab militants earlier in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle in the past four months.
