ARUSHA, TANZANIA — Following the historic 25th Ordinary Summit of the East African Community, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Tanzania, H.E. Ilyas Ali Hassan, hosted an exclusive Iftar dinner in Arusha to celebrate Mogadishu’s expanding regional influence. The gathering honored the official swearing-in of Advocate Abdiwahid Warsame Abdullahi to the East African Court of Justice and recognized the Somali delegation’s operational success throughout the high-level summit.
The diplomatic dinner brought together the key figures driving Somalia’s regional integration strategy. Attendees included the newly appointed Justice Abdiwahid and his family, Somalia’s Liaison to the EAC Asha Hirzi, and various EAC technical officials. Ambassador Ilyas utilized the occasion to formally welcome the judge to his prestigious regional post. He also expressed profound gratitude to the Somali technical and diplomatic teams whose coordination ensured a flawless and highly impactful national presence during the Heads of State proceedings.
In his response, Justice Abdiwahid expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and the strong institutional backing he has received from the embassy.
