SONNA – Beijing March 10, 2024 – The Somali Ambassador to China, H.E. Awale Ali Kullane, attended the closing session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a top advisory group in China, held at the Great Hall of the People.

Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, were present. The meeting focused on reviewing reports and proposals to guide China’s future policies. Several important decisions were made, including approving reports on past work and future plans.
Wang Huning, the leader of the CPPCC, gave a speech highlighting the committee’s achievements and goals. The participation of Amb. Kullane in this event is a testament to the strong bilateral relations between Somalia and China.

As Somalia continues to forge its path on the international stage, engagements like these underscore the importance of diplomatic presence and active participation in global political events. Amb. Kullane’s attendance at the CPPCC session not only reinforces the significance Somalia places on its relationship with China but also offers insights into China’s political processes and developments.
